Co-funding was obtained to extend the TUDA study with specific reference to bone health in ageing. Bone density scans (DXA) were performed on participants recruited from Northern Ireland and markers of bone formation and bone resorption measured in all TUDA participants. Furthermore, the Centre of Excellence in Nutrition and Ageing (CENA) was established within the Nutrition Innovation Centre for Food and Health (NICHE) at Ulster University.
