Anne Molloy is a Fellow of TCD and Emeritus Associate Professor in the Discipline of Clinical Medicine, School of Medicine. As Principal Investigator of the Vitamin Research Laboratory in TCD, her research has been to understand the molecular, clinical, nutritional and genomic impact of cellular metabolic pathways that rely on key micronutrients. One particular area of expertise involves links between B-vitamins and risk of chronic disease in the elderly including cognition and cardiovascular disease. She is currently a member of the FSAI Scientific Committee.

Helene McNulty is Director of nutrition research (NICHE) and Professor of Human Nutrition and Dietetics at Ulster University, and is a registered dietitian by professional training. Helene is an elected Member of the Royal Irish Academy (since 2008), Fellow of the International Union of Nutritional Sciences (since 2017), and was co-Chair of the 13th FENS European Nutrition Conference Dublin (Oct 2019). Helene’s research programme is aimed at providing greater understanding of nutrition-related health through the lifecycle and contributing to food and health policy internationally. She has particular expertise in micronutrients and has published extensively in the field of folate and metabolically related B vitamins, building impacts from early to late life and frequently delivering keynote presentations at scientific conferences worldwide. In her academic role, Helene is actively involved in teaching and programme administration at undergraduate and masters levels in Food, Nutrition & Dietetics, and is fully committed to the integration of research and teaching. To date she has supervised 35 PhD students to successful completion.

Conal Cunningham has been working as a consultant geriatrician in St. James’s Hospital since October 2000. He is currently the Clinical Director of the Medicine for the Elderly Directorate and the Co-Director of the Falls and Syncope Unit in St. James’s Hospital. He is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Gerontology, Trinity College Dublin. His clinical and research interests include Falls, dementia, stroke, Parkinson’s disease and rehabilitation. He has over 100 peer reviewed publications.

Sean Strain is Emeritus Professor of Human Nutrition at Ulster University. He is an author of over 300 peer-reviewed research publications (H-index: 78; 48.8k citations; Google Scholar) and attracted over £38M in external research funding during his career. He is a member of the Royal Irish Academy (elected 2002), a Fellow and former President of The Nutrition Society (2010-2013) and in 2014 was appointed Order of the British Empire for services to nutrition research and education. Other prizes include the British Nutrition Foundation Prize 2012 and the William Evans Fellowship, University of Otago, New Zealand. He was President of the European Nutrition Leadership Programme, Luxembourg, Vice-Chairman, Panel on Dietetic Products, Nutrition and Allergies (NDA), and Inaugural Chair of the NDA Working Group on Claims, European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) Parma (2006-2015). He chairs the Science Advisory Panel to High Value Nutrition (National Science Challenge), New Zealand.
